Ben O'Brien is a talented film director from San Marcos, Texas who originally picked up the art of film in high school. He worked on his first real film project in a Psychology AP class, which brought him a lot of positive attention from classmates and teachers. They all praised his creativity and this sparked his interest in diving even further into film and music videos. He decided to pursue a career in film and enrolled at SUNY Purchase, which is located in Purchase, New York. During his time there he began to create his own media on a constant basis. Unfortunately, his family was unable to afford another year of out-of-state tuition and he was forced to move back to his hometown.
He attended Texas State University for his sophomore year where he began entering in music video contests. He placed first in a Kill Paradise contents and came close to winning a Boys Like Girls video contest as well. After a year at Texas State University he transferred to Texas A&M where he became a member of the film club and SWAMP (Screen Writing Acting Move Production). Mr. O'Brien is currently a senior at Texas A&M as he is finishing up his bachelors in Media Studies.
Some of his credits include a montage music video for
Hurricane by 30 Seconds to Mars, which has over 1,600,000 views on YouTube. He has also done a music video for Era (in which he was a finalist), a music video for Talenthouse.com's invite with Dr. Dog, LMFAO video (in which he was a runner up), Crystal Method music video (also a runner up) and many others. His passion and skills for the film industry have also led him to become a featured artist for Talent House. More recently he has teamed up with the ROW Studios team to do videos for
Dairy Queen and
Apartments.com.
Another one of his passions is event management in which he has been quite successful in the past. He orchestrated the Pillow Project just outside of College Station, Texas, which drew a crowd of nearly 1,000 people. It was a daylong music festival that featured Electric Touch as the headliner. This wasn't any ordinary music festival as during one of the songs by Electric Touch a pillow fight took place. This pillow fight was one of the largest ever as it had close to 1,000 participants.
Mr. O'Brien is one of the co-founders of ROW Studios and will be showing off his passion for film and his know how of event management in future ROW Studios endeavors.
