SEO Specialist

Job Summary

Our company is looking for a Search Engine Optimization Specialist to increase search engine rankings and traffic to a website. Your primary goal is to increase conversion through search results, so your tasks will involve keyword research, informed content development, and link building. Our ideal candidate is a digital marketing expert who analyzes, reviews, and implements changes to websites so they are optimized for search engine and will increase the traffic by improving rank within search engines. As an SEO specialist, you will identify strategies, techniques and tactics to increase the number of visitors to a website and obtain a high-ranking placement in the results page of search engines. By generating more leads for the business, you will open up new opportunities for driving growth and profit. Applicants should be comfortable with CSS, HTML, and Google Analytics so you can assist with strategic changes to page layout.


  • Perform keyword research, selection, and testing
  • Program HTML, CSS and JavaScript to ensure the site is accessible and easy to follow and for increased interaction with visitors - this may involve working on video and PDFs
  • Develop and implement link building strategy
  • Develop content using keywords to increase website traffic
  • Run/assist in pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns to increase revenue through sponsored online advertising
  • Make strategic changes to page design and layout
  • Perform routine SEO audits
  • Assist with website maintenance
  • Provide optimization, ranking, and analytics reports
  • Develop and integrate content marketing strategies
  • Monitor the algorithms set by the search engines to keep up to date with changes

Skills & Requirements

  • Proven experience in developing and executing SEO campaigns (1-2 years relative experience)
  • Proven SEM experience managing PPC campaigns across Google, Yahoo, and Bing
  • Sound comprehension of performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition
  • Knowledge of keyword research and data mining tools
  • Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms
  • In-depth experience with website analytics tools (e.g, Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends)
  • Experience using, reading, and understanding bid management tools such as Click Equations, Marin, Kenshoo, and Search Ignite
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints
  • Continually current on latest trends and best practices in SEO and SEM
  • BS/MS degree in a quantitative, test-driven field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and an excellent knowledge of Excel
