Web Designer II

Job Summary

We're looking for a senior web designer to supplement our fast-paced, fully remote team. To qualify for this position, you must exhibit advanced knowledge of designing, developing, and maintaining responsive web applications while contributing to our overall digital marketing strategy. You must also lead a team of designers to create, enhance, and optimize company websites, oversee projects to meet the client's expectations, and build a website that embodies the company's characteristics, voice, style, and vision. As a Web Designer II, you will provide advanced strategic support to marketing personnel to meet all marketing goals and offer guidance and support to junior designers. Comfort with multi-tasking and working in a fast-moving environment with constantly shifting priorities is a must. This role is a terrific opportunity for a seasoned web design veteran to gain experience in people management and mentoring.

Responsibilities

  • Become an expert on our customers and our product.
  • Push to improve front-end development experience and codebase maintainability by identifying efficiencies, reusable abstractions, and communicating best practices.
  • Help shape the design and features of the product you build in collaboration with design, product, and operations teammates.
  • Work beyond just shipping your product; evaluate, evolve, and optimize your work to deliver the best, most valuable user experiences.
  • Possess a deep knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM), as well as in-depth knowledge of Google Ads, Google Analytics, and Google Tag Manager.
  • Work with marketing product managers to customize online marketing campaigns, and organize and manage all online marketing collateral.
  • Proactively troubleshoot problems blocking your path and the paths of others, and make suggestions for improving our products and internal processes.
  • Supervise junior web designers by creating timeframes and work schedules to meet deadlines, scheduling training sessions, and coaching one-on-one advanced design concepts.
  • Live and breathe open-source software, UI components, design systems, interaction design, and web APIs with an eagerness to learn more.

Skills & Requirements

  • Superior UX/UI skills and digital design experience with an elite portfolio of work examples to back it up.
  • Bachelor's Degree in information technology, computer science, or related or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of industry experience in web design and development.
  • Experience translating high-fidelity designs into successful products.
  • Experience with Git code versioning/source control.
  • Experience building 2D/3D graphics and animations with After Effects, Cinema 4D, GSAP, Three.js, or related technologies.
  • You have a keen interest in interaction design and creating memorable user experiences that create moments of delight.
  • You consider marketing a craft and can balance highly creative strategies with pragmatism.
  • You have experience implementing and adapting mobile-first design methodologies and developing and maintaining design systems with robust component libraries.
  • You’re a great teammate, participating in design and code reviews, pairing, and mentoring as needed to make our team better.
  • You’re a persuasive communicator who can advocate for your ideas and your team.
  • A passion for user research and empathy-driven design decision-making with attention to detail for site accessibility and reliability for users with disabilities.
